Refugee School Impact
Purpose
​The purpose of the Refugee School Impact (RSI) Program is to strengthen academic performance and facilitate the social adjustment of school-age refugees and other eligible populations. To achieve these goals, Replacement Designees aim to employ strategies that will improve parent participation and facilitate cultural integration into local school districts.

Eligibility
-
Immigration Status – All ORR-eligible populations, described in Immigration Status.

Time in the U.S. – Clients within 5 years or 60 months of their original date of eligibility. Priority of services should be given to those who have been in the U.S. for 1 year or less.

Residency – Must reside in the state of Kansas

ORR-eligible families with school-aged children are eligible for RSI programming. ORR-eligible youth 18 years of age or older are eligible if the individual is enrolled in high school or a high school equivalent GED program.
